Is there any herbicide that will not kill my peonies and roses? My garden is over run with dandelions and such

I need to be able to get the weeds out of the way to be able to do anything around them. Any ideas/suggestions?

Is there any herbicide that will not kill my peonies and roses? My garden is over run with dandelions and such
Don't use a "herbicide". That will kill any and all vegitation. What you want is a "broad leaf killer", but it will kill your flowers if it gets on them. What you have to do is give the dandelions a small shot, real close and personal, and don't let it get on the flowers. Hope this helps.
Reply:A herbicide is a chemical to kill plants, as compared to a pesticide is used to kill bugs. A broad leaf killer is a type of herbicide. Report It

Reply:The best method for any homeoner is not to use any herbicides or pesticides. They are harmful to birds, your pets, and you, besides killing unwanted bugs or weeds. Pull out the daises one at a time, then use something similar to rubber mulch, where water can go through but no sunlight. Report It

Reply:I agree with mark h the best way is to pull them up yourself that way you know for a fact that you have gotten rid of them fully and the rubber mulch is a very good tip too. Report It

Reply:orange oil one oz in a gal of strong vingar and a squart of dish soap wipe or spray it on but not on what you do not want to kill
Reply:Yes, don't spray any herbacide on your peonies and roses! If you must spray, use cardboard, like a box taken apart, to block off your desirable plants when you spray. Don't risk the exposure. Garbage can set over them will work too, unless the plants are too large.
Reply:Spread some mulch over the weeds. Pull the biggest ones and add them to the mulch. Use grass clippings over newspapers and nothing will grow through it. Mulching will also reduce the need for watering.
